Quick answer
The current answer
Focused UI videos show staff recruitment under Hire on the in-game tablet and current employees under Manage. Capacity upgrades are observed through hiring research at the Research Table, while Staff Overflow is the over-cap route with an extra cost. Version 1.0 added Security and Mascot staff; updates 1.0.43 and 1.0.48 changed when staff can quit and how that behavior can be disabled. Update 1.0.50 reduced the chance of a Saboteur appearing, but the official note does not publish the new percentage.
How to hire and review staff
The focused UI material accepted in the third course shows two separate tablet areas: Hire for recruiting staff and Manage for reviewing employees already working in the park. This is a dated UI observation rather than an official manual, so labels may move after an interface update or differ on consoles.
Use the Hire section when you still have capacity. If the game says the cap has been reached, the next question is capacity research or Staff Overflow—not a hidden second hiring menu.
How staff capacity and Staff Overflow fit together
Two independent UI videos place hiring-level upgrades at the Research Table. A separate Staff Overflow route allows hiring above the normal cap with an additional cost.
This page intentionally does not publish a level-by-level cost table or an overflow percentage. The checked material did not provide a current official table, and older economy values can become wrong after balance patches. The durable answer is the route: research for normal capacity, or use Staff Overflow only after reading the current in-game cost.
Security is now a staff role
Older guides may say staff cannot deal with bad visitors. That answer became outdated with version 1.0, which added Security as a staff type that removes bad visitors. The same release added Mascots, described as increasing visitor happiness.
Update 1.0.43 added the Saboteur trait. The official patch note describes Saboteurs as arriving with a sledgehammer and unplugging a pool if they are not stopped. That is a verified version change, but it is not enough to invent a complete visual-identification guide, Security success rate, or ideal guard count.
Update 1.0.50 reduced the percentage chance of a Saboteur appearing. The official note does not state the new percentage, so this guide keeps that number unknown instead of estimating it.
Why staff quit after version 1.0.43
Update 1.0.43 introduced quitting after a player bullies a staff member heavily within a short period. A quitting employee sends a notification, receives a red exclamation mark by their name, and is highlighted red.
Update 1.0.48 narrowed that behavior: staff do not quit on Easy or Sandbox, and an accessibility option can disable staff quitting and NPC retaliation. These details come from the Steam/PC patch stream; console parity remains unconfirmed in the sources checked for this page.

What remains unknown
- Exact current hiring prices, overflow charges, salary values, and a complete capacity-level table.
- A complete current role-unlock table and platform-by-platform UI comparison.
- The exact current Saboteur appearance chance, Security success rates, ideal guard counts, patrol range, and every bad-visitor identification cue.
- Whether each Steam/PC staff behavior change is already identical on PS5 and Xbox.

Maintenance
When this page needs another check
- A patch changes the Hire, Manage, Research Table, capacity, or Staff Overflow interface.
- CayPlay adds, removes, or changes a staff role, Security behavior, or bad-visitor trait.
- A patch changes staff quitting, difficulty behavior, or the accessibility setting.
- A reliable current source publishes exact costs or a complete staff-cap table that can be independently checked.
